Simpson donates to the troops

State Representative-elect Erik Simpson donated $100 in November as part of an effort to ensure
soldiers were recognized last Christmas.

District 32 constituent Julia Townsend put together care packages for her son and the hundreds of
other soldiers in the Army's 25th Infantry Division serving in Iraq.

"Our military personnel are some of the greatest Americans," said Simpson.  "When I learned what
Julia was doing for our troops, I wanted to help out."

Townsend collected donated books, DVDs, games, toiletries, candy, and other items.  She used the
money she received to buy even more goods.
